Poem Friday - On a Monday

A sea of grain escapes the swimming racist sadists mind

Trial it by fire, and you'll see the place is fine

This minor fact's in fact as tasteless as a grapeless vine

Making more discussion just a gracious waste of time

The Personality of Paint

Paint can be colored and go on a wall
or paint can be primer you wont see at all
it can warm up a room on a cold winter night
or cool off a sun porch to make it just right.

brushes and rollers large spots and trim
a color for her, and a color for him
so pull out your paintbrush and manage a way
find a color you love, and paint something today.

Poem Friday: Musicians

Music can make a sad person happy
and music can make that happy one sad
and music can send a whole string of emotion
from loving, to hating, from angry, to glad

Musicians however are really the key
guitars simply dont play themselves
the touch of the hand and the practice you see
helps the music we love to fly off of the shelves

but the music in stores is the tip of the berg
for so many melodies charming and sweet
mix with the harmonic tones of musicians
I see every week as I walk down the street

So find a musician who sings or who plays
and listen a moment of two
and throw them some change in their instrument case
for they just gave a great gift to you!

My week, in a collage, in a poem, in a blog

I have seen this format used on several blogs,  and I really like it,    Making a collage,  numbering it,  and writing about each picture.    I like it,  one because it allows easy integration of multiple topics,  and 2,  because you get to make a freaking collage!!

I thought it would be a great way to sum up my week on this beautiful Friday.  Then I realized that I usually (when posting regularly) post a poem on Friday.   Well with nothing prepared,  I am going to make this one up on the fly,  so here it is,  my first ever collage weekly summary poem  Friday post. or CWSPFP.

1:With all this gorgeous weather
I thought it only fair
to hit the beach a couple times
with boogy board and chair

It may not be a woody
but the Mazda picked up slack
towels ,chairs and  boogy boards
all fit within the back

2: I started blogging from my phone
to see how well I'd do
the format was a little rough
but it worked and I got through

now I edit photos
where ever I may be
I put to much FX on this one
but hey,  the app was free!

3:At lunch I walk down to the beach
and practice a strange crafty
I tie up sticks with seaweed
and build a mini raft

This week I took a dollar
and used it as a sail
then tossed it in the water
it worked and didn't fail

It only took 3 minutes
till one girl took the leap
and went to get the dollar
in the ocean 5 feet deep.

4: summer time is wonderful
and please make no mistake
I love the way the sun shines
from the camp down to the lake

5:Today's another Friday
deliciousness at that
there's donuts in the office
and their here to make me fat

for many people are not here
they made a 3 day weekend
but all the donuts still just sit
waiting to be eaten

6:Leaving from the beach last night
the sun was setting fast
and so I grabbed this picture quick
to make that moment last

boys in towels in the back
wifey by my side
windows down along the coast
we took an evening ride.

So there is is,  My week,  and poem friday,  AND a collage post,  all in one.  Have a great weekend!!!

Poem Friday - Before I Die

I'd like to try
before I die
to love
and laugh
and sing
and cry

All are great as all have seen
so let me tell you what I mean

To love my family
love my life
love my freedom
love my wife
love my God
love my friends
love that love will never end

Laugh too hard till I cant breathe
Laugh at some in disbelief
laugh with each listed above
which is to laugh with which I love
Laugh because it feels so great
Laugh because I just cant wait
Laugh for everyone to see
Laugh so they will laugh with me

sing for joy
sing in sadness
sing for girls, and boys, and gladness
sing with many
sing alone
Soprana-alte-bass-itone
sing a song of how I feel
sing for things I feel are real
sing for every thing above
sing of laughter
sing of love

Cry when I need to
cry like a man
cry when I see you
cry cuz I can
cry for joy
cry for strain
cry for all the times of pain
cry out cry in
its great release
cry today, tomorrow peace
cry for the love I've been given to guard
cry because I have been laughing too hard
cry when the song hits my favorite part
Cry because tears end up good for the heart.

For these reasons I will try
to Love
and Laugh
and Sing
and Cry

Poem Friday: Bed Friend

At night I curl up in my bed
but not alone you see
my wife's under the covers
and she shares the bed with me

Tonight It seems that she's alseep
as I climb into bed
but as I lay and turn away
she smackes me in my head

Then as i go to kiss her
Just the same as every night
I notice she is breathing odd
I hope that she's alright

I put my arm around her
but she doesnt seem aware
she just lies there sleeping
I run fingers through her hair

Her breath though smells atrocious
As she breathes upon my neck
Like a skunk that ate a pig
Then died under the deck

Just then I remembered
that my wife is out of town
so who is this then in my bed
I have to take them down

I jumped up looked and there it was
Dresses in my wife's new blouse
and that is why we dont allow
The Monkey in the house.

Computer Problems

The internet is off today
I cannot get online
And it’s a pain needless to say
I'm hardly doing fine

I need to check my e-mail
I need to browse the web
I need to get on Skype
And send a message to Aunt Deb

It worked just fine on Saturday
And Sunday all was good
But now on Monday morning
It’s not doing what it should

The screen is empty cold and black
The mouse and keyboard too
I need the web to just come back
I don’t know what to do

And So I called up tech support
But they could not assist
I can't complete my book report
And Facebook will be missed

I got out of my chair and tripped
My face then hit the rug
That’s when I finally realized
My computers still unplugged.

Poem Friday 4/15 - Cold Coffee

I have been having a lot of fun with the theme "Thats when I finally realized" in my poems. So for todays Poem Friday post. I wanted to share one I wrote this morning.

Cold Coffee

My coffee isn’t hot enough
In fact its rather cold
I got it just this morning, so
It isn’t even old

My coffee tastes quite funny
It really is too sweet
But today’s quite sunny
And Coffee keeps me on my feet

I’m not quite all awake yet
My eyes still have a sheen
I drink it as is anyway
Because I need caffeine

But something isn’t right here
There’s bubbles in my cup
I may have been deceived I fear
I think something is up

I didn’t pour my coffee
I got I from a friend
I pick up theirs’ most every day
And so we switched the trend

But as my mind awakens
I see the that it’s a joke
That’s when I finally realize
That this coffee is a Coke.

Poem Friday - My Twitter is not working

My Twitter isn’t working
I can not send a tweet
I asked a bird if he would help
He flew across the street

My twitter is not working
My status will not write
I want to tell the world about
My day and then my night

My twitter is not working
Which may be for the best
Perhaps I’ll go outside today
Perhaps you’ll be my guest

Cuz’ Twitters getting corporatized
And I cant keep on going
And keep up with the ads they send
And all the crap they’re throwing

I used to love my twitter
And the people that I followed
But corporate tweets have taken over
And twitter's soul’s been hollowed

So if you are still tweeting
About your life and such
Then shout it out so I can hear
And I will thank you much

But if you are a company
Just setting our your snares
Well you too can keep tweeting
But you should know nobody cares.

Poem Friday - The Man Cold

I do not feel the way I should
There’s something off today
And I would name it if I could
For it won’t go away

It started with a scratchy throat
And runny nose but then
My head was floating like a boat
I cannot see my pen

My body aches, my eyes are sore
I think I’m gonna sneeze
I cannot sleep because I snore
Quick diagnose me please

It couldn’t be the chicken pox
There’s no spots to be seen
I have the symptoms on the box
But oh what can that mean?

It will kill me if I let it
As the tissues I unfold
And That’s when I finally get it
That I’ve got a real MAN COLD.

A Friday Poem: Now I Sea

Today I walked upon the beach,
And now I give this mighty speech.
And while some of you may not care,
I still will speak of salty air.

My job’s an office high above,
The sea and stones and shells I love.
I sit and work and sip and munch,
and wait so patiently for lunch.

And when the noon bell hour rings,
My heart is happy, thrilled, and sings.
I go to where I love the most,
My secret beach along the coast.

Today theres fog I can not see, but still I walk along,
The lighthouse horn mixed with the ships, belt out a mighty song.
I pick up bricks and stones and shells, and toss them in my bag,
I look out at the lobster men and all the traps they drag.

My feet are wet, my hands are ice, my face is getting cold,
I used to last for hours here.. I must be getting old.
I pack my final treasures up and walk along the rocks,
My toes are raisins fully shriveled in my soaking socks.

I hear the call of Gulls above and sea crashing below,
I look upon my watch to see, that it is time to go.
To work its true I must return, though birds are never far,
It’s only then I realize, ones crapped upon my car.

A Friday Poem "Dear Sun"

You keep me warm when I am cold
You make my skin look really old

You melt the snow off of my car
You seem so close but are so far

You are so bright
With all my might
I spend my summers fanning

So high above
Oh how I love
To sit outside while tanning

But yesterday you caused a scare
From what I am told is solar glare
Highway traffic to a halt
And yes dear sun it was your fault

So please keep shining
I am not whining
Im just saying loud...

Perhaps dear sun
Just while I drive
Please hide behind a cloud
